Jack-O'-Lanterns
In celebration of Halloween, Andrew, Tyler, and I carved jack-o'-lanterns last night. We had a great time creating the little guys. We opted to forgo the new stencil patterns and carve classic jacks. Oh, the things that make me happy! Click here for the history of the Jack-O'-Lantern.

Scout Dog
My poor puppy. Every time my brother, Mat, returns to school at NAU my dog goes into serious depression. He lays around like this for days: There is, of course, a serious debate in my family as to whether or not Scout is actually my dog. He only seems to love me when Mathew leaves or I have treats! I love him even if I'm not his favorite.

Vegas!
We celebrated Rachel's birthday in Vegas this weekend. It was 36 hours of fun, minus the 8 am flight this morning. Friday night we ate dinner at Tao at the Venetian. It was very delicious. Then we headed upstairs to dance the night away to songs from the 90's. It was so much fun!
Saturday we spent most of the day watching football games and trying to figure out where to eat dinner! Funny how most of my trips revolve around food. Thanks to the concierge at Caesar's we were able to get reservations at Fiamma at the MGM and passes into LAX at the Luxor. It's never a bad thing to have a group of five girls in Vegas!Sadly I had no big winnings. I think I actually lost money in the penny slots! But the trip was quick and fun. Welcome to 27 Rachel!

Two Homecomings and a Wedding
This weekend marked the first time over a year and half that my entire family has been together. A week ago Andrew returned from his 12 month tour of duty in Korea. And last Thursday Paul came home too (he was only in town to attend a wedding but still...). It was great to be with all of my brothers again.
My parents, Paul and I attended Rachelle's sister's wedding Friday night.
Paul and Rachelle I miss you!

At Last!
If you haven't heard, Arapahoe Basin, which is just west of Denver, opened for the season yesterday! It was their earliest winter opening in 61 years! Woo Hoo! This marks my most favorite time year. I look forward to ski season all year long. If the snow keeps up it is going to be a great season in the Rockies!
Just for fun here are some pictures from my most favorite mountain, Alta, last year:I got new boots last season and obsessed about them the entire trip. I can't wait to go skiing this year. Pray for snow!

The Hunting Party
So far this is my movie recommendation of the fall. For anyone who loved the Matador you have to see The Hunting Party. It is hilarious. The movie is based on the Esquire article "What I Did on My Summer Vacation", by Scott Anderson. So funny.
